How to connect a phone number that is already registered on WhatsApp
You can connect a number that is already on WhatsApp. You do not need to delete your WhatsApp account first. Pick the option below that matches where your number is today.
1. The number is on the WhatsApp Business app (recommended: Coexistence)
Connect it with WhatsApp Coexistence. You keep using the WhatsApp Business app on your phone, the same number works in ChatMaxima, and you can bring over your contacts and up to the last 6 months of chats.

2. The number is on the regular WhatsApp Messenger app
Move the number to the WhatsApp Business app first. WhatsApp lets you keep your chats when you switch. Then connect it with Coexistence as in option 1.
3. The number is connected to another WhatsApp API provider
A number can be connected to only one provider at a time. Disconnect it from your current provider, then connect it to ChatMaxima. If you still use the WhatsApp Business app on the number, open the app and go to Settings > Account > Business Platform > Disconnect. If the number runs only on the API, ask your provider to release it and to turn off two-step verification.
4. You want the number on the API only, without the app
Choose this only if you no longer want to use WhatsApp on your phone with this number. Delete the WhatsApp account on the number, then add it in ChatMaxima as a new number.
- In the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app, go to Settings > Account > Delete account.
- Enter your phone number in full international format and confirm.
- Wait a few minutes, then add the number in ChatMaxima under Channels > WhatsApp.
Deleting the account removes your message history and backups, removes you from your WhatsApp groups and cannot be undone. If you want to keep your chats, use Coexistence instead.
